To you, who got lost in the maze of the internet and just happened to land on this page, I invite you to discover an allegory of free trade through this A.E.S. series (Abstraction Excel Shit). Feel free to appreciate or not this subtle pun — personally, I like it.

It’s now time to step into the octagon of economic liberalism, where numbers (heavyweight category) joyfully punch humanity (flyweight category, or strawweight for the girls), and where each painting reflects the uninhibited speculative violence that intrudes into a world we dream of being temperate, peaceful, and ordinary.

Gold and Black... Midas and the Fatal Gold

In each round, the gold leaf — monolithic, haughty, and confident in its power — symbol of the cold analytical precision of Excel charts and, for some, an ideal life (#profit), faces its opponent of the night: the dripping. Wearing titanium-black shorts, the dripping symbolizes a furious and desperate resistance. It throws itself onto the canvas like a fighter in the ring, with all the rage of its frustration.

When the K.O. Is Near

Sometimes, the colored drops embedded in the dripping burst like much-needed pauses to catch one’s breath, clear one’s mind, ease the pain, and come back stronger for the next round, ready to keep fighting to preserve the essential...

What Will the Outcome Be?

Mythology always rests on a foundation of reality. But there is no fatality for our collective destiny, and I am convinced that humanity can win this fight.
